With a frozen cycle, program fees are per-egg and all-inclusive, with the costs of Cofertility’s coordination as well as the donor’s screening and retrieval already built in. Your frozen egg donation match also comes with our Embryo Guarantee:

The number of embryos guaranteed is based on the number of eggs in your original match.
If anything outside of your control prevents you from reaching this minimum, we’ll replace those eggs with an equivalent number at no additional cost for up to three total matches.

How it works

If you are interested in matching with a donor in our frozen egg donation program, here’s how the process works:

Create a free account

Visit match.cofertility.com to create a free account. Simply answer a few questions about what you’re looking for to get immediate access to our donor matching platform at no cost.

Browse donors

You’ll be able to view profiles for the hundreds of donors that are available to match. At any time, you can also schedule a free consultation with a member of our team so that we can help you find your fit. At the top of every donor profile, it notes whether they’re available for a fresh cycle or have frozen eggs available.

Find your match

When you find a donor with whom you’d like to match, press the “hold this match” button at the top of their profile. From there, you’ll be directed to pay your Match Initiation Fee, which will remove the donor from the platform so no other intended parents can match with them while we confirm details.

Match kickoff

Once you’ve placed a hold, you’ll be assigned a dedicated Member Advocate who will support you through the entire process. They’ll set up a kickoff call to review next steps and answer your questions.

Finalize your egg cohort

Once the match is confirmed and you’ve finalized the number of frozen eggs in your cohort, you’ll sign a legal agreement transferring the frozen eggs to you.

Fertilization and embryo creation

Once your cohort is confirmed, you can either ship the frozen eggs to your own clinic or work with the clinic where retrieval was completed. Eggs will be thawed and fertilized; from there, some intended parents also choose to complete PGT prior to transfer.

Meet your donor (optional)

If both parties are interested, we can facilitate a virtual meeting between you and your donor. This can be done on- or off- camera and with or without names revealed, in order to accommodate both disclosed and undisclosed matches.

Post embryo creation

From here, your journey is unique to you. Some intended parents move forward with an immediate transfer, others store embryos for later, and some may work with a gestational carrier. Whatever your path, we’re here to ensure the process is seamless and supported — from embryo creation to pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

What kind of screening do donors in the frozen egg donation program complete?
All Cofertility donors, regardless of their program, undergo the same rigorous screening process as those in our fresh program, following ASRM, FDA, and standard egg donation guidelines. This includes:
- Confirming the donor is 21–33 years old (per ASRM guidelines)
- Reviewing the donor’s medical, mental health, reproductive, and lifestyle history
- Reviewing the donor’s biological family’s medical history for genetic risks and conditions
- Collecting and reviewing any prior donation history and outcomes
- Genetic carrier screening
- Psychological screening
- General health examination
- Third party background check
How many eggs will I get with a frozen cycle?
Every frozen match has a minimum of 6 frozen eggs, but a given donor may have more frozen eggs available based on their cycle outcomes.
A donor’s eggs from a given retrieval may be shared by up to 3 families. Compared to traditional egg banks, our model reduces the number of potential family units and biological half siblings that your donor conceived child(ren) may have in the future. If a given donor has already donated to another family, that will be clearly noted on their profile.
How do I figure out if my clinic will accept frozen eggs?
Most clinics will review the retrieval clinic’s freeze and thaw protocols alongside the screening and embryology records, all of which we’re able to provide. Our team will also complete an onboarding with your clinic to ensure they have everything they need to accept the frozen eggs.
If I match with a donor in the frozen program, do I need to work with the clinic where the eggs were frozen?
While we have seen great outcomes with these clinics and would be happy to recommend completing your cycle there, you can also ship the frozen eggs to your clinic for fertilization and transfer.
